Polavaram Project receives CBIP award

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed happiness over Polavaram Project receiving Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) award.

He congratulated the officials and workforce at the field level at Polavaram project for their achievement on Wednesday at the Secretariat. Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha, Principal Secretary of Water Resources Sashibushan Kumar and ENC M Venkateswara Rao displayed the award before the Chief Minister on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said the Polavaram Project receiving the highest award gives a fitting reply to those who resorted to false campaign on the project.

He termed the award as a reflection of the commitment of the State government to complete the project as per schedule and stands as recognition to the efforts of both workforce and officials. He said the State government is committed to complete the project as per schedule despite several hurdles and appealed to officials to carry out the works with the same spirit and commitment towards the completion of the project. 

The Chief Minister said that Polavaram Project concrete works also achieved world record. He described Polavaram Project as a boon to farmers of AP. He said despite the Central government’s non-cooperation and Opposition parties’ false campaign, the State government is determined to complete the project. 

He said the awards received by the State in several sectors including in achieving growth rate, for various projects, investments, energy sector, infrastructure and welfare programmes reflect the commitment of the State government to make AP number one in the country.
