Chandrababu Naidu to lay stone for TCL in Tirupati tomorrow
Amaravati: In a big development in electronics sector in the State, the TCL company is going to set up its manufacturing unit at Tirupati at an estimated cost of Rs 2,200 crore. This will be an investment in consumer electronic goods manufacturing.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to lay foundation stone for this company at 9.30 am on December 20 in Tirupati. The company will commence production by December 2019. It will come up on an extent of around 158 acres of land at the electronics cluster in the town and will generate employment to more than 8,000, both direct and indirect.
TCL Chairman Li Dongsheng and Minister for IT N Lokesh will participate in this programme. Following the initiatives taken up by Lokesh, attractive policy framework of Andhra Pradesh government and the State continuing in the first place in East of Doing Business, has contributed to TCL coming to AP.
In fact, the TCL representatives visited the State about a year ago and from then onwards, Lokesh established a strong communication between the company and government.
On several occasions, he was directly involved in interactions with the company and explained about the market opportunities in the country, subsidies being provided by the State government to encourage manufacturing units in AP and other policy decisions.
Lokesh said that with the setting up of the TCL company, the entire Tirupati region will turn into an Electronics hub and it will further boost the opportunities for growth in the sector.
