Tidal waves pose threat to fishermen
Pithapuram:

With the warnings on Pithai cyclone, legislator SVSN Varma along with revenue department officials on Sunday toured villages on Uppada sea coast. They alerted the villagers and advised them to face any inconvenience.
Varma asked them to cyclone shelters where all basic facilities were arranged. He said that they alerted the fishermen not to venture in to the sea for fish hunting.
Generators and additional current poles were arranged if there is any hurdle to power supply, Varma said. He appealed to farmers to store their produce at purchase centres.
Tahsildar Ratnakumari, CI B Apparao, SI Shobhan Kumar were present. Meanwhile, the tidal waves at Uppada sea coast were reaching to dangerous levels. Roof of the houses damaged due to huge winds.
As a precautionary measure, farmers shielded their paddy produce with tarpaulin sheets.
