Dwaram Thyagaraj bags National Incentive Award -2018

Visakhapatnam: Dr Dwaram V K G Thyagaraj, a primary teacher in music, KV Waltair, was awarded with the prestigious KVS National Incentive Award 2018 by Rina Ray, Union Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy,

Ministry of Human Resources Development at a function held in New Delhi. Dr Tyagaraj, hails from a highly respected family of classical Karnatic Musicians of Dwaram family.

Tyagaraj was a UGC scholar and was awarded doctorate degree in Karnatic Music. He was a reputed graded artist, composer and proficient in playing musical instruments. 

His students of Kendriya Vidyalaya have secured first position in group song competition at National-level KVS- Social Science Exhibition, CMP Baldiwas, Bharat Scout and Guide activities, KVS National Integration Camp and National-level Music AIR Competitions.

Dr Tyagaraj has published books and presented papers at international and national seminars. His musical notes were part of a curriculum for MA (Music). 

Earlier, Tyagaraj has received the prestigious KVS Regional Incentive Award and ‘Ugadi Puraskar’ from Andhra Pradesh government. He was also honoured as Asthana Vidwan by Sri Kanchi Kama Koti Peetam. 

SS Raja, Principal, KV Waltair, and staff congratulated Dr Thyagaraj on receiving the prestigious award at the National level.
