Unemployed youth stage protest, demand mega DSC

Visakhapatnam: As many as students and unemployed youth came on to the roads and demanded that the State government announce mega DSC with 14,000 teacher posts including 10 language pandits for each district in Andhra Pradesh by doing a semi-nude protest here on Wednesday near Gandhi Statue at GVMC in the city.

The students had raised anti-government slogans by holding placards with their demands in their daylong protest. The representatives of Andhra Pradesh Unemployed Joint Action Committee (JAC) demanded that the State government increase the vacancy posts from 337 to 800 under Group-II category and to conduct the exam in objective method as before.

As the number of technical students were high among the unemployed youth, the JAC representatives demanded the government to provide employment for the technical students who had completed their bachelor’s degree at electrical engineering, electronics and computer science streams.  They also appealed to the State government to conduct a police special recruitment drive at West Godavari region.

On the lines of Telangana state, the AP government should also introduce computer programmes for the non-computer background students instead of asking additional computer certificates as additional qualification during job recruitment. The JAC also demanded for relaxation of age up to 44 years for jailer and assistant jailer posts and in fire services.

Speaking to media, Andhra Pradesh Unemployed Joint Action Committee president S Hemanth Kumar said that Andhra Pradesh government neglecting the unemployed youth and playing with their lives without announcing the enough vacant posts at various government departments.
