Design new appliances for blind, students told

Bhimavaram: Speakers at a three-day workshop on ‘Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology’ called upon the students to work towards designing new appliances that would help the blind.
The workshop commenced at Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants stressed on the need to bring many new things that would help the visually challenged persons in their routine life.
M Manikvelu of Mindtree Ltd, Bangalore, Jayaseeli of Aravind Eye Care, Mumbai, Dr Rekha Anand of LV Prasad Eye Hospital, Vizag, principal G Srinivasa Rao, ATL dean Padma Vasavi and others spoke on the occasion.
