Police arrested 16 smugglers recovered Rs 1crore woth red sander logs

Kadapa: In a separate incidents police have arrested 16 red sander smugglers at Rayachoti and Pulivendula forest areas and recovered Rs 1 crores worth 50 grade one red sander logs, two cars from the on Monday. Among them 7 smugglers were belongs to Karnataka, 2 were Tamilnadu, remaining 7 belongs Kadapa, chittor districts.

The accused were identified as K.Viswanatha, G.Narayanappa, KN. Prakash, R.Venkatesh, P.Prakash, G.Chandra Sekhar, S.Subrahmani KR.Puram area of Bangalore city, Karnataka state,  M.Ramaswamy Jayaraman, K.Apparao of Salem district of Tamilnadu state. S.Eswaraiah, A.Suresh, M.Sivaiah, Sundupalle mandal kadapa district, D.Purushotham S.Nagesh, S.Manikanta, Chittor district.

Addressing press conference here at Rayachoti police station OSD A.Lakshmi Narayana said the each accused have indulged at least 4 cases related to illegal transportation of red sanders from Kadapa district. He said that among them Appa Rao, Eswaraiah, Suresh were the most wanted as they were responsible in transporting the precious wood from Seshachalam, Nallamala, Lankamalleswara forest areas in Kadapa district. He said following tip of Pulivendula, Rayachoti police conducted raids in the forest areas nabbed the culprits while transporting the red sander through the vehicles.
