Drama competition held in vijayawada

Vijayawada: As part of Cultural Week, drama competition was organised by the Telugu department of Maris Stella College here on Thursday.

Dr P Usha, HoD Telugu said that Drama was a powerful medium to communicate systematic knowledge. She said that students of Intermediate, degree and PG performed drama with a theme on women empowerment which enthralled the audience.

The students also performed dramas entitled Droupadi Vijayam, Girl Child Education and Eradication of child marriages, anti-ragging, Ardha Nareeswari and on village life. 

All the students of Intermediate, degree and PG actively participated in the competition. 

The present social evils which hinder women education and women empowerment were also displayed on the stage besides the importance and role of women education, women empowerment.

The drama competition was organised by Dr P Usha and Dr Neeraja. About 20 groups participated in the competitions. Dr Regina, retired Telugu reader was the judge of the competition.

Later, the winners were given prizes.
