Medical Representatives stage protest in vijayawada
Vijayawada: About 1,000 members belonging to the Andhra Pradesh Medical and Sales Representatives Union (APMSRU) from across the state staged a protest against the government and labour authorities demanding that the dispensation implement labour laws and solve their problems as per the law here on Monday.
The protest was led by APMSRU vice-president AG Rajmohan.
Addressing the gathering, Rajmohan demanded that the government and the labour authorities recognise the sales promotion employees in Pharma Industry as highly-skilled category and fix minimum wages, implement labour laws, reduce medicine prices and implement 0 percent GST on medicines and medical devices.
He further said that public sector pharma companies and vaccine plants should be strengthened and renewed and pursue demands related to people’s health. A memorandum was submitted to Commissioner of Labour.
Union general secretary UV Krishnaiah, MA Gafoor, Ch Babu Rao, ANV Rao, Kaladhar, Sudhakar, Ravi Bhushan Rao and members of the union from all over the state participated in the protest.
