Call to create awareness on diabetes

 Vijayawada: Ajay Kallam, retired IAS officer said that awareness on diabetes should be created by organising awareness programmes to educate the people and drive away the myths on the disease. 

He participated as the chief guest at the programme organised by VGR Diabetes Education and Awareness Charitable Trust at PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science to mark World Diabetes Day and Childrens Day here on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, Ajay said that diabetes can be controlled with change in food habits and decrease in stress levels. 

VGR Diabetic Educational and Charitable Trust chairman Dr Venugopal Reddy said that about 21,000 students from 230 schools participated in the essay-writing competition held on the occasion.

Veteran journalist T Kutumba Rao and others were present.
