Principal calls engineering students to utilise ATEA workshop

Visakhapatnam: The students from Electrical Engineering Department of Andhra University College of Engineering (A) conducting a one-week workshop on ‘Automation Tools for Engineering Applications’ (ATEA-2018) from November 9 to 13 here on Andhra University. 

Addressing the students after inaugurating the workshop at Andhra University on Friday, AU Engineering College Principal Prof P S Avadhani said that all the electrical engineering students should utilise the workshop held for a week.

The workshop would be advantageous for researchers and industrialists to learn more than regular workshops conducted. He appealed to students that the participants should learn concept rather to know simply the abbreviations of words.

He also spoke about Internet of Things (IOT) integrated with supervisory control and said data acquisition (SCADA) has more applications in all fields of human life. Geographic Information System(GIS) is another important area where researchers have a lot of scope for research, he added.

He also said the rise in technology is making every one’s life sophisticated and simple in today scenario and he substantiated saying earlier the photograph’s was costing Rs 16, but today it is cheaper and available to everybody.

Later, he announced that Prof N Prema Kumar and Prof Ch V V S Bhaskara Reddy will be the coordinators for ATEA-2018. Many professors, students, research scholars and other participants from various colleges attended the inaugural session here on Friday.
