YSR Congress MLA's demanded water release from Mylavaram Reservoir

Kadapa:  YSR Congress MLA’s along with farmers associations met the collector CH.Harikiran on Monday submitted memorandum demanding release of from Mylavaram reservoir to Papagni, Kundhu, Penna rivers for the benefit of farmers to conduct agriculture operations in the current Rabi season.

Later speaking to media persons they said despite Rabi season commenced two months ago farmers who were performing cultivation under the purview of Papagni, Kundhu, Penna failed to secure the water properly due to several reasons. They said only 1500 cu secs  of water was released since last four days against actual release of  1tmcft from Mylavaram reservoir. 

They said as many as 132  villages in Kamalapuram, Khajipet, Yerraguntla, Proddaturu mandals facing serious drinking water problem as per the guidelines government has to supply the water to that mandals but it was not implemented though there was 4.013tmcft of water is available in Mylavaram reservoir. They hoped that collector initiate immediate  action by intervening in to the issue as he responded positively over their demand.   YSR Congress MLA’s P. Ravindranatha Reddy, A. Raghu Rami Reddy Kadapa district farmers association president M.Prasad Reddy and others were present.
