AP State level BCs meet on Nov 4

Vijayawada: The State-level conference of All-India Backward Classes will be held on November 4 at IV Palace, according to BC JAC state president Buddha Nageswara Rao.

Addressing media here on Friday, Nageswara Rao said leaders including V Eswaraiah, former MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, PSN Murthy and others would participate as chief guests in the meeting. 

He demanded the government to implement reservations for women as per the constitution and announce the statistical data as per 2011 Census pertaining to caste, financial, political and social status of the community.

He also demanded the government to implement reservations for the SC, ST and OBCs in private sector, besides reservation in appointing the judges of High Courts and the Supreme Court. He said that reservation to OBCs should be revised to 36 per cent and SC and ST should be given as per 2011 Census, he added.

A brochure was released on the occasion. BC leader Y Koteswara Rao, G Venkateswara Rao, S Appa Rao, B Shekar Babu, K Raju and others were present.
