Vijayawada represents international meet on joint replacements

 Vijayawada: An international conference aiming to teach advances in joint replacement surgeries to young orthopaedic surgeons, was organised at Meril Academy in Vapi, Gujarat according to Dr Suman Pendyala of Aayush Hospital, Vijayawada on Sunday.

He said that as part of the conference, a complex knee replacement surgery was performed on a 64-year-old lady and the entire surgery was transmitted live to Merlin Academy, Vapi.

Around 200 surgeons from 25 countries around the world were attending this conference to learn various surgical techniques and clear their doubts.

He expressed his happiness to be a part of this unique teaching programme. 

He said that this was an example for high standards of medical services being developed in Vijayawada, on par with any other advanced medical centres of the world, he added.

He thanked the management of Aayush Hospital and anesthetists Dr Satheesh and Dr Deepthi for playing a key role in the surgery.
