High Court stay orders expire in YSRCP leader’s murder case

Kurnool: KE Shyam Babu, the son Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy may be arrested as Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) issued against him and two others. Shyam Babu is the main accused in the murder case of YSRCP leader K Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy, who was hacked to death on May 21, 2017.

At that time, First Information Report (FIR) was filed against 15 persons including KE Shyam Babu, Veldurthy SI Naga Tulasi Prasad and TDP leader Bojjamma. Subsequently, names of Shyam Babu, Naga Tulasi Prasad and Bojjamma were deleted from the FIR.

K Sridevi, the slain wife of Narayana Reddy, has filed a private petition with adequate proofs in the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court at Dhone to include the names of three in the case. The court instructed the cops include the names of KE Shyam Babu, Naga Tulasi Prasad and Bojjamma in the case and arrest them. But, the trio had approached the High Court of Hyderabad. 

The High Court issued stay orders on arrest of KE Shyam Babu and Tulasi Prasad and rejected the petition of Bojjamma. The stay orders granted to duo by the High Court were expired a week ago.

The defending lawyer of Narayana Reddy’s case, P Yugandhar Reddy told The Hans India that the stay petition of KE Shyam Babu and Naga Tulasi Prasad had expired a week ago. As per the guidelines of the Supreme Court, stay petition would be in force for a period of six months. 

After that the NBW will come into force, he stated. The Dhone Court has instructed the Police Department to arrest the duo within the due date of their appearance before the court on October 23, the defending advocate said.
