Kerala govt to follow TTD for providing darshan to Sabarimala devotees

Tirupati: “We are ready to allow women devotees into Sabarimala temple as per the Supreme Court verdict.  But, our state government yet to take a decision on providing separate queue lines to women devotees,” said Public Works Department (PWD) Principal Secretary Kamala Vardhana Rao of the Kerala government.

A team of bureaucrats from Kerala led by Kamala Vardhana Rao have met TTD officials at Padmavathi Guest House here on Monday and interacted with them over the temple administration and crowed managements skills. 

The team includes KR Jyothilal, Secretary of the Endowments Department and Additional DGP Anantha Krishnan. Tirumala JEO K Srinivasa Raju has showed power point presentation over the implementation of management skills in controlling the devotees effectively.

And, also informed about using of Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools for effective implementation of the darshan tokens allotment, accommodation, free meals distribution and tonsuring services.

After the meeting, speaking to the media, Kamala Vardhana Rao has stated that the Kerala government will reconstruct all the accommodations, shops, hotels near Pamba, the nearest location of Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala. before November 15. 

For the reconstruction of the flood damaged houses and other buildings in the Pamba, Kerala government has taken the cooperation of the TATA Trust, Rao informed. He further said his government will construct rest rooms for accommodating 10,000 devotees and also accommodation for duty police, medical and staff of the Endowments Department. 

“We will follow the TTD models to provide hassle free darshan to pilgrims visiting the Sabarimala,” he stated. In the meeting, TTD Finance Advisor Balaji, CE Chandrashekar Reddy and other officials were present.
