Fruits of development must reach all: Expert

Visakhapatnam: Former president of Society for Integral Development and Research KC Reddy said that as per the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report, the fruits of development are not reaching to every individual.

Speaking at a two-day international seminar on ‘Social Economic of Human Development and Ease of Living in India’ held at Economics department in Andhra University here on Saturday, he said the government must take necessary steps to reach the benefits of the schemes to targeted sections and to improve our place in human development index. 

Andhra University Vice Chancellor Prof G Nageswar Rao said because of scientific and technological developments, India stood among the developing countries  and also competing with many other developed countries.

AU Arts College Principal K Ram Mohan Rao said that providing comfortable and peaceful lifestyle is very important and it would also help improving our rank in human development index. 

As the country witnessing caste and communal problems widening of gap between the rich and poor increasing, he said the intellectuals should give their suggestions and show guidance to future generations. 

A special edition of the programme was released by the AU VC G Nageswar Rao and a book was released by K C Reddy authored by Institute for Economic and Social Justice President K S Chalam on the occasion.
