Students take out rally on Gandhi Jayanti in Tanuku

Eluru: Rich tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi whose 150th birth anniversary was celebrated as prisoners welfare day at district jail here on Tuesday.

Principal District and Sessions Judge G Sunitha, Collector K Bhaskar, SP A Ravi Prakash, secretary of DLSA K Sailaja, Special mobile court Magistrate RV Sarma and others participated in the programme.

Jailers N Rajender, P Ramesh, Appala Naidu and others were present.

In Tanuku, about 3,000 students of SKSD educational institutions take out huge rally in the town.

At Ganganamma Temple in Eluru, Mahatma Gandhi statue was garlanded by local people led by Dr KV Satyanarayana. Corporators B Balaji, B Prasad and others also paid tributes.
