Multi-level parking planned in Tirupati

Tirupati: To resolve the parking vows of four-wheelers in temple city, the Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited (TSCCL) decided to construct a multi-level parking at a cost of Rs 60 crore on 0.75-acre vacant land near TTD's pilgrim amenities complex, Vishnu Nivasam, here. 

The site is close to railway station in Tirupati. Once completed, cars can be parked on an hourly basis. The TSCCL wants to construct few more multi-level car parking facilities in prime localities. Officials of the Smarty City Corporation have identified 37 bus shelters for modernisation. The bus shelters will have amenities like sitting chairs, drinking water and toilet facilities, LED display for passengers to know arrival and departure timings of buses.  Tenders for the works will be invited very soon. 

In addition, civic officials are planning to develop public parks and playgrounds for the city residents on or before December 2018.  Instructions were given to officials to complete the pending works related to smart city projects like conversion of normal classrooms into smart classrooms with digital audio-visual technology in select civic high schools. Architects are preparing design for construction of the multi-level vertical parking facility within the limited space, said MCT Engineer
