Women visit police headquarters to lodge complaints in Eluru

Eluru: Acting at the instance of West Godavari Superintendent of Police M Raviprakash, Additional SP K Eswara Rao received complaints from people over several issues. 

Many women from different parts of the district visited the police headquarters with the hope that the cops solve their problems here on Monday.

A woman from Perampet of Jangareddigudem mandal complained that village elders along with relatives had been harassing her as she married a person from other caste.

A woman from Chintalapudi urged the police officials to take action against her husband who was harassing her by maintaining an extramarital affair with another woman.

Another woman from the city begged the police to save her from a person who was troubling her on the pretext of love.

The additional SP along with Mahila Police Station CI Mohammed Unnisa received the complaints.

A person from Mogaltur complained that a chit organiser was not giving back his investment.

The additional SP directed the officials concerned to take up the cases and send action taken report to the higher officials. 

Speaking on the occasion, he requested people to first approach their nearest police station and lodge complaint there. 

They can also visit circle and sub-division police offices to register their complaints. 

If no justice was done, they can directly meet the SP at the district headquarters, he suggested.
