Heavy demand for job, biz, wedding rotis

Nellore: Rotis being exchanged at Bara Shaheed Dargah indicate the contemporary trend of wishes where majority showed interest in employment, wedding, and success in business rotis. 

Devotees, who were from various parts of the country are exchanging rotis on the banks of Swarnala Cheruvu for fulfilling their requirements. 

In fact, there is a practice that a person, who accepts roti for his wish, has to offer the same as soon as his requirement is fulfilled. 

So, there are queue lines of people searching for the specific roti. 
This time Agriculture Minister Chandramohan Reddy accepted a roti wishing his party chief Chandrababu Naidu should come to power again. 

Congress leader and DCC President Panabaka Krishnaiah accepted roti for the special category status to the state. 

For managing the huge throng of devotees, authorities have made arrangements for continuous sanitation with regular staff deputed from other municipalities in the district.

They had deployed 800 such staff members to maintain hygienic conditions in the premises of the Bara Shaheed Dargah and also at the tank.  

Kavali Municipal Commissioner A Venkateswarlu, Gudur Commissioner Obulesu, Atmakur Commissioner Srinivasulu and Naidupet Commissioner Chandrasekhar Reddy have been deployed for discharging their duties during the Roti festival. 

District cops, who had already set up command control centre for monitoring law and order have also deployed around 2,000 police personnel for bandobast during the festival. 

Officials have earmarked 10 places for exchanging rotis. Education, employment, success in business, children, marriage, permanent house, foreign visit, software employment, health, politics and other rotis were others being exchanged. 

The main activity during the Roti festival is 'Gandhamahotsavam' and it attracts thousands of devotees. 

Muslim religious elders along with 12 vessels of Gandham would be brought in a rally from Ameenia mosque to Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city for the activity. 

Further, Kadapa Ameen peer Dargah Sajjad-e-Nasheen offers prayers at the Dargah and applies Gandham to the 12 martyrs. 

Due to continuous movement of vehicles from many parts of South India, commuters in the city have been facing severe troubles due to traffic. 
They were also facing cash crunch at the ATMs since majority commuters withdraw money from them. Hotels, tea stall, small tiffin centres and others are witnessing huge crowds. 

Some popular hotels and wedding malls are providing food to the devotees on Saturday and Sunday as part of supporting the festival.
