NDRF organises awareness on calamities at Toorputallu in Narsapur mandal

Narsapur: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organised an awareness programme for schoolchildren on how to react to natural calamities and disasters which may happen anytime and leaves a little time to respond for rescue operations.

The awareness session was organised at ZP High School at Toorputallu in Narsapur mandal on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, NDRF official V Satish Kumar stressed on the need for students to be aware of rescue operations necessary to face the calamities like tsunami and earthquakes. 

As such information about calamities spreads in no time, the safety and precautionary measures require immediate attention. 

He briefed the students on first aid, besides use of rubber boats, gas cutters, modern camera to detect the victims and other things. 

Many lives could be saved and damage to property could be avoided, if the rescue teams act with swiftness, he added.

A display session followed. The NDRF 10th battalion commandant, Jaheed Khan organised the awareness programme.
