Deputy Speaker M Buddha Prasad felicitates artists at Gantasala Music College in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad participated in the felicitation programme of artists organised jointly by the Andhra Pradesh Creativity and Culture Commission and the Vijayawada Arts Society at Ghantasala Music College here on Tuesday.
The programme titled ‘Swatantra Bharati – Chitrakala Harathi’ was organised to mark the 72nd Independence Day from August 11 to August 13.
About 30 artists participated in the painting competition from both the Telugu speaking states which include national artists like Jeevan Goisika.
Artists presented Dandi March, Pingali Venkaiah design of Tricolor, Prakasam Pantulu’s Simon Commission Go Back, hanging of Bhagat Singh, heroic fight of Veerapandya Kattabrahman, which will inspire the young generation to rededicate themselves to the country, said Buddha Prasad.
He said that all the paintings will be kept on permanent display at Gandhi Kshetram in Avanigadda and appealed to all the artists to come onto one platform and be united. All the artists were felicitated on the occasion with shawl and memento.
AP Creativity and Culture Commission director Vizai Bhaskar, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy and others participated in the programme.
