APITA to impart training to youth

  • 45 days training in IT wing

  • 2017-18 passed out graduates are eligible
  • Last date for applying is August 18
  • Screening test will be conducted on August 25 at Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram
  • Fifty candidates will be selected

Visakhapatnam: In order to provide skilled youth to the information and technology firms, the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) has decided to impart special training programme to the unemployed youth ensuring employment to the successful trainees. 

With the massive efforts of the state government more IT companies have been coming to the state.

However, the companies have been facing tough time to recruit the candidates without basic knowledge in the IT sector. 

Though the companies have been expressing and coming forward to recruit more youth, due to the lack of the skilled persons, the vacancies are not being filled up. 

Observing the need, IT Minister Nara Lokesh directed the officials to provide training classes related to the IT industry.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Special Chief Secretary to IT and Adviser to the Chief Minister in IT wing JA Chowdhary said that the training will be given to the graduates of 2017-18 passed out batch. 

The training will be conducted at Dr LB College in the city. Some of leading IT companies and APITA jointly conduct the classes. 

The classes will be started from September 5, the Special Chief Secretary said.

The training will be for 45-days and Rs 20,000 will be spent on each candidate for training and the entire expenditure will be borne by the government, Choudhary said. 

Successful trainees will be placed in various IT companies with a package of Rs 1.40 lakh. The candidates, who are interested can apply online before August 18. 

Candidates have to attend screening test which will be conducted on August 25 in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam and results will be announced on August 27. 

As many as 50 candidates will be selected for the training.
