CPM Praja Rakshana Yatra enters 12th day in Vijayawada

 Vijayawada: Overall development was possible only, if the CPM come into power, said senior CPM leader Ch Babu Rao. The ‘Praja Rakshana Yatra’ entered the 12th day on Thursday. 

BSNL Employees Union state secretary P Ashok Babu, former Bezwada Bar Association president S Krishnamurthy flagged off the Praja Rakshana Yatra at 21st division.

Speaking on the occasion, Babu Rao blamed the government for entrusting the work of providing drinking water to private parties. 

He further said that as per the Supreme Court order the government lands and parks should be used for official purpose. 

But the TDP government had put the order at bay and was handing  over government lands to private and corporate groups, he alleged.

The leaders gathered signatures from the people on the problems like storm water drainage system, UGD, Roads, drinking water, electricity, house rents and taxes at Governorpet, Suryaraopet, Nakkal road, Museum road, Big Bazaar road, Besant road, Annapurna theatre and other areas.

CPM leaders and others participated in the day-long padayatra.
