Develop tourism spots, officials told
Kadapa: District Collector Ch Hari Kiran has directed the officials to take steps for the development of tourism spots in the district. The Collector along with Tourism Regional Director Gopal and District Tourism Officer Rajasekhar Reddy, visited Shilparamam located in Kadapa city on Wednesday.
On this occasion, he inspected the master plan related to the first phase of Shilparamam and directed them to design the function hall suitable for organising various events by providing infrastructure facilities. He directed officials to create an ambience by placing historical events in the premises of Shilparamam.
Saying that government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore since 2005 for the development of tourism spots, the Collector stressed on the need of developing landscaping garden and boating at Vontimitta Tank.
He said government has sanctioned Rs 3 crore for development of infrastructure facilities at Gandikota Reservoir and tenders were finalised for the construction of a ropeway. He directed them to initiate steps for the beautification of tank bund at Devuni Kadapa at a cost of Rs 1 crore and completion of meditation centre with an estimated cost of Rs 1.3 crore at Nandaluru. Joint Collector-II Siva Reddy and other officials were present.
