AP City to host ‘Global TECH’
Visakhapatnam: The city is again hosting a three-day International TECH (Transforming Education Conference for Humanity) to be held from November 15 to 17. The TECH will be jointly organised by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
The state government had already conducted the three-day TECH in the city in December 2017 and several recommendations of the conference were implemented in the education sector in the state. The government suggested similar international conference in the city.
In order to review the event a meeting was convened here on Wednesday. The Commissioner, Higher Education Sujatha Sharma, Chief Adviser (events) of UNESCO Caine, Joint Collector, G Srujana, and principals of various government colleges were present.
Speaking at the meeting, Caine explained about the event through a PowerPoint presentation. He said that during TECH-2017, 800 delegates from various nations attended and this year, over 1,000 delegates are expecting to attend. He asked the district administration to make the arrangements for the participants. Commissioner of Higher Education Sujatha Sharma directed the Joint Collector to book the accommodation at Novotel for the foreign delegates.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, educationists from several countries, and education ministers from various states in the country, ministers from the Central government and other officials would come to participate in the event, the Commissioner said. She directed the district administration to set up various committees to look after the arrangements for the conference. During the meeting, the officials discussed about the seating, protocol, transport, academic session and reception at the airport and Novotel hotel.
