BJP to counter TDP’s ‘negative’ campaign against Central govt

Vijayawada: The core committee meeting of BJP state unit has decided to oppose the negative campaign against the Centre by TDP. The core committee meeting chaired by party state president Kanna Lakshminarayana was held here on Wednesday.

State party in-charge V Muraleedharan, national secretary Satishji, MP Gokaraju Gangaraju, senior leaders D Purandeswari, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, MLAs Kamineni Srinivasa Rao, Akula Satyanarayana, P Manikyala Rao, P Vishnukumar Raju and several leaders were present.

The meeting discussed threadbare about the future activities of party and plans to get public support for the next elections. The leaders unanimously accepted a resolution to make efforts to come to power in the state by explaining the people the achievements of the BJP at the Centre and in the state.  

The meeting also passed a resolution to counter the false publicity campaign being made by the TDP over the release of funds by the Centre and non-cooperation from the Centre for the state development. The leaders said the rank and file of BJP should meet the people and explain the development activities of the BJP.

They said the leaders should explain how the state government had been getting funds from the Centre for the development activities. Party in-charge Muraleedharan suggested the state leaders to prepare a detailed report on progress of projects and release of funds. The role of the Centre should be debated among public, he added.

Party state in-charge V Satyamurthy said the state government was demanding the Centre for tax-holiday benefits while staging protests for Special Category Status for the state. He also explained how the state government has been provoking people by raising different points against the Centre.  

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to misuse the funds for his selfish interests, he alleged. MLC Somu Veerraju asked the government to conduct panchayat elections immediately and said the government was running the state with help of special officers by violating all democratic norms. BJP leaders G Ravindra Raju, Jammula Shyam Kishore, Suresh Reddy, Santha Reddy and K Vishwanatham were present.
