185 booked for drunken driving

Guntur: The court sentenced six persons for drunken driving in the Guntur rural police district during the last one week based on the cases booked by the police. 

The court also imposed penalty for 36 persons. Cases were booked against 185 persons.

Guntur rural police regularly conducting drunken driving tests in the Guntur rural police district limits to check road accidents caused by the drunken driving. 

They are conducting counseling to the drunkards. They stressed on need to wear the helmets. 

Later, Guntur rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Swamy released posters published by the Siva Sankar Social Service Society relating to steps to be followed to check road accidents.
