1,069 villages in East Godavari ready for Swachh Survekshan Survey
Kakinada: East Godavari Collector Karthikeya Mishra said that all the 1,069 villages in the district are being readied for Swachh Survekshan Survey for Grameen 2018 Award.
Speaking to the media at the Collectorate on Friday, the Collector said under the programme, the utilisation of individual and community toilets, sanitation and random verification of open defecation-free areas were being taken up in the district.
Apart from this, the sanitation in schools, educational institutions, community halls, markets, Anganwadi centres, pilgrim centres, primary health centres and religious places will be inspected to find out water logging areas, the Collector said. He also said taht the toilets constructed under Swachh Bharat were geo-tagged and new constructions will also be brought under this.
On the occasion, the Collector asked the people to observe Swachh Bharat as movement and prepare the district for Swachh Survekshan Survey and place the district in forefront for claiming Swachh Sarvekshan Survey Award 2018. DWMA project director S Raja Kumari and DPO S Malli Babu were present.
