Seminar on energy conservation held at Maris Stella College

Vijayawada: The department of Social Work of Maris Stella College organised a seminar on ‘Energy Conservation’ for the students of Arts in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM) on the college premises here on Thursday.

The chief guest of the programme was A Chandra Sekhar Reddy, CEO, APSECM.
He said that the increase in population led to conservation of non-renewable energy.

Domestic sector is the major consumer of energy in every economy, he said and added that large inventions and innovations had replaced conventional methods to save energy. 

Saving electricity is the need of the hour, as electricity is generated through burning coal in India which affects the environment in a negative way, said Reddy.

The resource person, K Madhu Babu, founder of Green Energy Solutions motivated the students and the parents towards a habitual change in conserving energy regularly. 

Dr Sr Lovely Jacob, HoD Social Work, Dr J Asha Kumari, Intermediate vice-principal, staff, students and others were present.
