Mountaineers felicitated by Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala Management
Vijayawada: The NCC and NSS committee of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala felicitated the mountaineers of Mount Everest. The felicitation programme was presided over by the college principal Dr M Nalini on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the college director Dr T Vijayalakshmi spoke about the importance of achieving a big goal like climbing the Mount Everest and appreciated the adventurous trekking team of mountaineers.
Mountaineer Asha Kiran shared her experience of trekking Mount Everest. She advised that young girls should have strong will power, zeal, enthusiasm, self-confidence to achieve their goals.
Sarat Varma spoke about the challenges they had faced while trekking at minus 40 degrees. K Raju suggested the students to develop ‘Never give up attitude’ and believe in hard work.
The college management appreciated the mountaineers and presented cash award to all the team members. Student union, NCC, NSS committee, staff and students participated in the felicitation programme.
The adventurous Mount Everest Trekking team consists of N Vara Prasad (Chittore), K Raju (Guntur), Sk Himansa (Prakasam), Asha Kiran Rani (Srikakulam), KV Suryaprakash (Nellore) and AN Sarat Varma.
Principal Dr Meka Ramesh, Director Vemuri Babu Rao, Dean Rajesh C Jampala, Siddharha Academy Adviser Ak Mohan Rao, students and faculty were present.
