Make women know rights, officials told
Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh State Women Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Raja Kumari has underlined the need to bring awareness among women on their rights.
Participating in a meeting held on Legal Literacy for Women here on Tuesday, she said the government was very much particular to implement laws to protect rights of women.
Expressing concern over the increasing atrocities on women and girls in the state, she said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had directed the officials to take stern action against the accused in these cases.
Women, advocates and non-governmental organisations should know about women legislations and their rights.
She advised the police officials to take the complaints from women without delay when they come to police stations.
MP Maganti Murali Mohan, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao and rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary and others were present.
