Garbage piles up at MVP Colony
Visakhapatnam: Though the GVMC officials are boasting of maintaining cleanliness across the city in view of seasonal fevers, for the past three weeks, the garbage and dried tree branches are not being cleared by the sanitation wing at MVP Colony.
After the APEPDCL’s repeated alerts that the trees are disturbing the power lines resulting in a series of power cuts, hence, the GVMC officials taken up a massive drive to cut the trees.
As a part of the drive, many trees has been trimmed to ensure hassle-free power supply three weeks ago. The sanitation staff informed the locals that the garbage vans would come clear the branches and left the same on the roads. However, the sanitation workers are not coming though locals lodged complaints several times. The newly laid black top roads are now filled with garbage.
“I asked several times to clear the garbage and dried branches of the trees. But no one is responding. Almost, it is similar in every street in the Sector-4 of MVP Colony.
The GVMC should immediately clear the garbage and ensure hassle-free traffic on the roads,” B Suneetha, a resident near Rajiv Gandhi Gymnasium of GVMC at Sector-4, MVP Colony said.
