1 held, stolen property worth Rs 10 lakh recovered
Kakinada: Sarpavaram Police arrested a notorious thief and recovered Rs 10 lakh worth property from his possession at SBI Officers Colony in Valasapakala village. The district Superintendent of Police, Vishal Gunni disclosed the details after producing the thief before the media at the District Police Office here on Wednesday.
The SP informed that Tekumudi Srinivasa Rao (43) alias Bujji was a habitual offender and stealing the locked houses since 2016. He belongs to Valasapakala village in Kakinada Rural mandal.
SP informed that the modus operandi of the offender Srinivasa Rao, was involving his juvenile nephew whom he trained in stealing the locked houses. Gunni further said that the offender took part in many thefts in Sarpavaram, Timmapuram, Yanam and at Hyderabad. Gunni said that the Sarpavaram Police recovered two-and- a- half kilos of silver, 312 grams of gold and a laptop, all worth Rs 10 lakh from Srinivasa Rao.
The SP appreciated the SDPO, Ravi Varma, CI Chaitanya Krishna, SI Satyanarayana Reddy and his team who have succeeded in nabbing the thief. The SP urged the public to use LHMS (Locked House Monitoring System) when anyone leaves their houses for a longer period.
