Road safety awareness meet for auto drivers held
Eluru: The police department has taken up an awareness programme for drivers as part of 29th Road Safety Week. The Three Town police conducted the awareness drive for auto drivers at TTD Kalyana Mandapam as part of the week.
Addressing the drivers, the Three Town CI P Srinivasa Rao suggested the auto drivers to follow the traffic rules to avoid penalty and accidents. He stated that most of the accidents were happening under the influence of liquor consumption only. He asked the auto drivers to have badge numbers.
He said that the auto drivers should get the licenses whenever issued by the transport department. “If you have any problems in getting the licenses, you may approach us,” he suggested. He warned that if anyone violated the road rules, they would be dealt with sternly. Three Town station writer Jakriwala, constable Pawan and others participated in the programme.
