An eleven-day centenary celebration of Susarla Dakshinamoorty Sastry, disciple of Sadguru Sri Thyagarajaswamy, was organised by the Music lovers of Vijayawada, in association with Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.
An eleven-day centenary celebration of Susarla Dakshinamoorty Sastry, disciple of Sadguru Sri Thyagarajaswamy, was organised by the Music lovers of Vijayawada, in association with Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.
On the inaugural day, veteran violinist A Kanyakumari was felicitated by Mandali Budha Prasad, Dy Speaker, AP Sate Assembly, Annavarapu Ramaswamy, on the same day Kanyakumari violin concert was impresive and received appreciations from music lovers. Parupalli Subbaraya Phalgun and M Haribabu rendered excellent support on mridangam and ghatam.
During the festival famous ‘Laya Vidwan’ Yella Venkateswara Rao was also felicitated by D Vijaya Bhaskar, Director, Cultural Affairs, Bhusarapu Venkateswarlu, Annavarapu Ramaswamy, Modumudi Sudhakar and other organisers. The students and followers of Music College renderd Panchartna Ganam during the festival with full devotion.
Young and upcoming artistes like Vidya, VRKL Tejeswi, Asrita, Saiteja, Vishnavi, Pratyusha, P Durga, Peravali Lakshmi Jayati, GRMT Nageswara Sarma, Hemadri Chandrakanth, Darbha Mruduravali, BSS Ananth, M Anjana Sudhakar, Ragampudi Amulya, Nc Koushik, Somadatta, Malladi Karthik Triveni, Divyadhar, M Srutiranjani, B Bhuvaneswari, Y Seshurani, G Satish Babu, K Alekha, BV Vidyasagar, Ch Santhi and Chitta Karthik exhibited their musical talent during the festival.
Noted musicians like Vishnubhotla Saraswathi, Krishna Veni, Popuri Gowrinath, Patibandla Janaki, M Arunkumar (USA), S Chandanabala (Mumbai), Malladi Brothers Ramprasad, Ravi kumar, Annavarapu Ramaswamy, DV Mohana Krishna, D Phanikumar (Hyderabad) and Modumudi Sudhakar presented outstanding performance and spread the music essence to the audience.
K Subrahmanyam, K Aniklumar, BVS Prasad, K Mahesh, I Pinakapani, Neti Sivasankar, M Vijayakumar, K Jaganmohini, S Prasad, K Yogesh, K Adinarayana Sarma, K Ramesh, K sadguru Charan, I Anjaneya Sastry, NS Kalyanaraman, Malladi Sivanand, K Sai Giridhar and Dandamudi Sumathi Ramamohan rao rendered mridangam support to the concert.
Similarly Hemadri Chandrakanth, Ganduri Srinivasamurthy, BV Durgabhavani, VSPG Sivani, G Satishbabu, P Nandakumar, Ch Madhu, Palaparthy Nageswara Rao and DVK Vasudevan supported aptly on violin. The eleven days festival has given awesome pleasure to the music followers of Vijayawada and surrounding areas.
