Swarajhuri a city based cultural organisation has been serving for more than one decade to promote music in the city by organising classical music programmes. On Tuesday evening a melodious vocal concert of Krithi Bhatt was arranged at Governor Pet in the premises of Kodandaramaswamy temple. Krithi Bhatt from USA had come to India during her vacations to participate in concerts in Chennai and Vijayawada.
Krithi started her concert with Bhairavi ragam and continued with other keerthanas like “Aata karadani” in Manorajani ragam composition of Thyagarajaswamy, “Mari vere gati evvaru” of Syama Satri in Anandabhiravi ragam, “Entani vinnavintura” in Urmika ragam of Pallavi Seshaiyyar and “Meenakshi Memudehi” of Deekshitar kriti in Poorvi kalyani ragam. The connoisseurs gathered in the auditorium appreciated the excellent and smooth voice and stick to traditional style.
After rendering Deekshitar's she started the main item, a well executed ragam, tanam, pallavi in Bilahari ragam. The difficult exercise was successfully executed with fine manodharamam aspects by Krithi. Krithi also rendered other items like “Aja Giridhar” in Sindhubiravi ragam and Santh Namdev’s “Abhang”. She concluded her concert with Lalgudi Jayarama’s Thillana in Misra Sivaranjani ragam.
Outstanding instrumental support to Krithi Bhatt was rendered by P Nandakumar on Violin, K Saigiridhar on mridangam and M Haribabu on Ghatam. The founder secretary of Swarajhuri Modumudi Sudhakar conducted the programme.
