A puppy and a pigeon became Best Friends, They won The Heart of Netizens on Social Media

Lundy and Herman are roommates at The Mia Foundation and they became best friends.

A rescue organisation in Rochester, New York, is home to a pair of unlikely best friends - a Chihuahua and a pigeon.

At the Mia Foundation, which is a nonprofit rescue for animals with birth defects and Herman and Lundy are roommates in this foundation.

According to the reports of Fox News:

Lundy is an eight-week-old Chihuahua who is not able to use his back legs.

And, Herman is his best friend who's a pigeon and can't fly, most likely because of a brain injury.

The Foundation named MIA has shared adorable images of the puppy and the pigeon cuddling together on the Valentine's day.

The pictures went viral as soon as posted on Facebook, and the complimentary friendship of these two has won the hearts of netizens across the world.

About a week ago, the photo has been shared online, and the pics have garnered over 21,000 'likes' and a whopping 45,000 'shares'.

To respond to the post many users has commented with their emotions:

A user wrote, "Well, I think you just made the cutest thing on the internet!"

Another user added his comment with "These photos just made my day! They are priceless!"

A third user in the comments section, "What an awesome pigeon to take a puppy under her wing."

Sue Rogers, who runs this foundation, told to WHEC which is a news outlet that six weeks ago, this friendship has begun after that she decided to put the puppy and the pigeon in the dog bed together.

Sue said to WHEC:

"Thursday night I took Herman out of his playpen to give him some time out and I put him in a dog bed and then I had to tend to Lundy so I put Lundy in with him," "They just looked really cute together so I took some pictures and posted them to Facebook and the next morning it was crazy."

The pictures have also helped the organisation by way of donations that have been pouring in since the post went viral.

Sue said:

"Just from a simple picture of a pigeon and a puppy being shared, we've already brought in over $6,000 in donations."
