Supreme Court extended Satyendra Jain bail plea in money laundering case till January 8, 2024
New Delhi: In the money laundering case, the Supreme Court on Thursday prolonged Satyendar Jain's interim bail till January 8, 2024. Satyendra Kumar Jain is now released on medical bail. The Supreme Court granted him bail for six weeks on May 26. Later, it was gradually extended. The matter is being heard by a bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma.
Previously, CJI DY Chandrachud refused to adjourn the hearing on AAP leader Satyendra Kumar Jain's bail plea in a money laundering case, which was listed before a bench led by Justice Bela M Trivedi.
Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Jain, urged the bench of Justice Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Mishra to adjourn the hearing on his plea proposed by the bench led by Justice Trivedi for the day.Singhvi stated that the bench of Justices A S Bopanna and Trivedi had heard enough arguments in the matter. The case has now been assigned to a bench that does not include Justice Bopanna. 'We request an adjournment,' said the senior attorney. If you (CJI) have read the case documents once.
On this, the Chief Justice stated, "The concerned judge is looking into the matter, and I will not interfere in the matter listed before him." The matter will be decided by the judge who is assigned to it. I can't take it. I can not decide.'
