Rajasthan's George Flyod Moment: Jodhpur cop kneels on man's neck for not wearing mask
A video shot in Jodhpur drew outrage after it showed a policeman kneeling on the neck of a person for not wearing a mask and there by violating lockdown norms.
According to the police, two policemen as part of their routine check stopped Mukesh Kumar Prajapat for not wearing a mask. However, Prajapat started hitting them, and the policeman then tried to control him.
Jodhpur's DCP Priti Chandra said, policeman clicked the person's photo when he was not wearing mask approached him and inquired why he was not wearing mask. Prajapat threatened policemen.
Policemen repored the incident to the local police station and asked for jeep and before they could arrive Prajapat started slapping both the policemen and the same is video recorded.
Jodhpur police also said, Prajapat has two previous cases aganist him. One of the cases was filed by his own father.
"If a policeman is being slapped and punched while on duty then it is embarrassing for the entire society. I feel the society should be mature enough to realise that if a man is in uniform then it shouldn't mean that the person should be criticised without a reason" the DCP Priti Chandra said.
