MSRDC revises toll rates for Mumbai-Pune Expressway from April 1, 2020
With the new financial year is fast approaching i.e from April 1, all the private sector boards are gearing up for a price hike across the country. In this backdrop, the toll plaza at Mumbai-Pune Expressway is likely to give the toll fee across all categories from April 1, 2020.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), which renews the toll collection rates every three years has increased the rates, which will be applicable from the beginning of the financial year 2021. The price hike ranges from Rs. 30 to Rs. 280, depending on the vehicle type and the section on the Expressway.
According to the new prices, the toll rate for a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) (cars, vans, MPV, SUV) for the entire Mumbai Pune stretch, has gone up from Rs. 230 to Rs. 270, with an increase of Rs. 40. While Mumbai-Lonavala route has gone up from Rs. 173 to Rs. 203, a hike of Rs. 30
Mumbai-Pune Route Toll Rates
On the other hand, the various vehicle categories include - Cars, Mini-Bus, Trucks (two axles), Bus, Trucks (with more than two axles), and Large cranes and Multi-axle vehicles have gone by Rs. 40, Rs. 65, Rs. 87, Rs. 122, Rs. 212, and Rs. 280, respectively. While the rates on the Mumbai-Lonavala stretch also gone up by Rs. 30, Rs. 49, Rs. 65, Rs. 91, Rs. 159, and Rs. 210, respectively.
Mumbai-Lonavala Route Toll Rates
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway is the first six-lane concrete, high-speed, access controlled tolled way, which spans a distance of 94.5 km. This way is currently the most busiest route in the country that handles about 43,000 PCUs (Passenger Car Unit) daily.
