Delhi Violence: PM Modi Appeals For Peace, Brotherhood
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, took to Twitter to appeal for peace and harmony in the national capital. North East Delhi has seen several incidents of violence over the past four days. Prime Minister Modi in his appeal called for peace and harmony describing them as central to the ethos of the country. His tweet read, "I appeal to my sisters and brothers to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times. It is important that calm and normalcy is restored at the earliest", his tweets said.
PM Modi's message on Twitter comes three days after violence broke out in the Northeast parts of Delhi. The Prime Minister also observed that he had conducted a detailed and comprehensive review of the situation.

A short while ago, interim president of the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi criticized the Union government, as also the Delhi state government for their inability to control violence in North East Delhi. In a press conference on Wednesday, Sonia Gandhi demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She also questioned the silence of the Home Minister, as also the Prime Minister in this grim situation.
Sonia Gandhi pointed to a planned conspiracy behind the rioting which took place over the last three days and referred to speeches of BJP leaders which created an atmosphere of fear and hatred, she observed.
Shortly after Sonia Gandhi wrapped up her press conference, PM Modi tweeted his message appealing for calm and harmony to be maintained.
