G Siddhartha, the owner of popular coffee shop chain Cafe Coffee Day has gone missing near Mangaluru, where a major search operation has started to find the millionaire. He is former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna's son-in-law. It is stated that Siddhartha got out of his car near the Netravati River near Mangaluru on Monday evening and has been missing since. The owner was speaking on the phone during the ride, when he asked his driver to stop the car. When he didn't return for several minutes at around 6.30 PM, the driver panicked and alerted his family.
Congress leader and former Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar tweeted that it is extremely fishy that VG Siddhartha would write such a letter. He demanded an investigation.
The letter purportedly written by Shri VG Siddhartha which is circulating is dated July 27th.

I received a call from him on the 28th asking if we could meet up.
It's unbelievable that a courageous man like him would resort to this. pic.twitter.com/bXcJhHz0QS
The businessman had written a letter to the board of directors apologizing to them. The letter came to surface earlier today.
Cricket Commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted about the businessman too, saying he created an excellent brand.
I can't say I knew #VGSiddhartha but I had met him socially a couple of times. He introduced me to his ready-to-go brand of coffee (then called Drizzle, now FiltaFresh) which I still carry with me while travelling. He created an excellent brand.
