New Delhi: Big names from BJP, Union Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda had table talks with Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday. Presidential elections being around the corner, this meeting can be considered as a crucial meeting.
Lately, the name of Venkaiah Naidu has been in the limelight for the presidential candidate of the party in power. Market for speculation is high on his name. The responsibility has been given to Rajnath Singh and JP Nadda to have a round of talks with various parties including the opposition to discuss about the presidential elections.
The BJP parliamentary Board meeting will happen today and hence the meeting of Shah, Singh and Nadda with Naidu becomes important. There is a high probability of PM Modi attending the meeting.
Both Nadda and Singh are yet to agree on the name of the presidential candidate, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief Spoke to senior leaders including Naveen Patnaik and National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah.
