31-year-old Uruguayan beauty queen found dead in her hotel room
Fatimih Davila Sosa, a 31-year-old Uruguayan beauty queen who represented her country at the Miss Universe pageant in 2006 and the Miss World pageant in 2008, was found dead in her hotel room.
Official reports have said that, she was found hanging in the bathroom of a guest room in a Mexico City hotel, which is located in a central neighborhood of the Mexican capital.
The statement given by the prosecution said, "Since after the pageant, she worked as a model. Initial investigations have established that she arrived in Mexico City for a job interview. An acquaintance helped her move into the Mexico City hotel, ahead of a job interview."
There was no official ruling given on the death of the model. However, the prosecutor's office said, a homicide investigation was looking into the circumstances surrounding the hanging and whether the woman killed herself or was slain by someone.
Mexican authorities have broken up numerous sex trafficking rings in the recent months. The women generally are promised jobs such as modelling, then kidnapped and forced into prostitution. There have been several cases of women being murdered.
