Two arrested for robbery, bike theft
Hyderabad: The North Zone Task Force officials of Hyderabad Commissionerate on Wednesday nabbed two accused belonging to a robbery and bike theft gang and seized four bikes and a cell phone, of one of the victims, from their possession. According to Task Force officials, accused M Pranay and B Praveen Kumar who are students indulged in four offences including one robbery and three theft cases under Begumpet, Chandanagar, Dundigal and Osmania University Police station limits.
Based on the complaints of the victims the police registered cases and took up investigation to nab the culprits. Pranay is a native of Prakasham District in Andhra Pradesh and is pursuing degree second year in Hyderabad. He is a resident of Sainikpuri. He used to consume liquor and commit theft of bikes. He came in contact with another accused Praveen and both of them were moving on theft vehicles in the night hours in and around Hyderabad.
The accused to lead a lavish lifestyle hatched a plan to target people in isolated areas and loot cash, cell phones. They were also committing theft of bikes at parking places and were parking the theft bikes at parking in the complex areas to escape from the police radar.
After verifying the CCTV footage at all possible places, the police identified the accused and on reliable sources arrested both of them. The accused along with seized material handed over to SHO, Begumpet Police Station for further investigation.
