CP felicitates 3 youth for nabbing chain snatchers
Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Thursday felicitated three youngsters who helped the police in nabbing the chain snatchers. Appreciating the vigilant attitude and enthusiastic involvement of the three youngsters Dheeraj Kumar, Srikanth and B V Pramod, CP felicitated them for showing exemplary behavior and bravery in chasing and nabbing the offenders.
CP said in February, some unknown offenders snatched a mobile phone from a passerby in Nallakunta police station limits. Later, the same offenders committed snatching of a mobile phone around Tarnaka in the Osmania University police station limits, and proceeded towards Lallaguda police station limits.
On noticing the snatching by the offenders, they youngsters Dheeraj Kumar ,25, a student and resident of Anand Nagar, Srikanth ,26, a private employee and resident of Sharada Nagar and B V Pramod, 25, a private employee and resident of Srinivaspuram in Ramanthapur chased them.
The silencer of the accused's bike was removed and lot of noise pollution was emanating from the vehicle and on approaching near Skylab Hotel in Mettuguda constable J Pratap and home guard K Vishnu heard noise of speeding vehicle, tried to stop the accused.
After seeing the police, the accused took a turn into the by-lanes, immediately the patrol car staff with the assistance of civilians chased them and apprehended them.On interrogation they revealed their identity and both the offenders were juveniles (17 and 16 years respectively) and confessed to their crime. Police seized 4 mobile phones, Rs 2,500, and the bike used in committing of the offence from the accused. The offenders are being produced before the court on Thursday.
