Warangal: The fall of BJP-led NDA government is imminent, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), said to be an umbrella body of 207 organisations of farmers and agricultural workers, Warangal Rural District convener Peddarapu Ramesh said.

Speaking at the farmers' body's protest in front of Rural Collectorate here on Monday, he accused the Central government of bulldozing the rights of farmers, who en masse gathered outside the national capital Delhi, opposing the farm bills.

Instead of implementing the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission, the Modi government had diluted the present agricultural system to benefit a few corporate houses, he stated. Referring to the Swaminathan Commission's principle - enforcement of minimum support price (MSP) throughout the country is essential for imparting dynamism to agriculture, Ramesh criticised the Centre for ignoring the welfare of the farmers. The Centre, which waives thousands of crores of rupees loans to the corporate companies, has no concern to bail out the farming sector, he said. It shows the BJP government's concern towards the farming sector, he added.

"It's time for the Modi government to stop its freebies to corporate houses and look towards the farming sector," Ramesh said, demanding the Centre to roll back the three farm legislations immediately.

The TRS government needs to participate actively in the fight against the Centre, he said, demanding Chief Minister

K Chandrashekar Rao to pass resolution in the Assembly against the farm laws.

AIKSCC co-convener Racharla Balaraju (CPM), MCPIU district secretary Chintamalla Rangaiah, Gone Kumaraswamy, Somidi Srinivas, V Shankaraiah, Ch Biram Ramulu, S Bhaskar, V Kumar, A Rajanna and D Komuraiah were among others present.

Earlier, the police thwarted the protestors' bid to lay siege to the Rural Collectorate. The protestors squatted on the road and raised slogans against the Modi government.
