Vijayawada: Entries invited for short film competitions on social evils

Vijayawada: The city-based Telugu Short Film Association (TSFA) is inviting entries for the Krishna district-level competitions in short films depicting the problems being faced by the present day society.

Organisers Ashok Anand, Yuvaraju, Rajasekhar, Nagaraju, Krishna Teja and Saikrishna told reporters on Sunday that noted directors Veerasankar and VN Aditya would be the judges of the competition. The subjects include communal harmony, unemployment, the difficulties of workers, professionals and artists in the backdrop of Covid19, consumerism, corporate education, problems faced by the patients in getting medical care, domestic violence, alcoholic addition, honour killings in inter-caste marriages, social justice, suicide by farmers, human relations, environment problems, the repercussions of superstitions, careerism, addiction of mobile phones and TV, corruption and soaring prices.

The short filmmakers may choose any of these subjects and the length of the movie should not be more than five minutes. The films should be above petty caste and creed differences and should not be obscene.

The short films should not have been sent to any other competitions including by the TSFA, JSI and others. Only short film makers from the district are eligible for participation in the competition.

Entry fee for the short film is Rs 200 which could be paid through Phonepe No 9908141494. The last day for sending the entries is December 15. The prizes would be Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 for the first, second and third prizes respectively and the prize winners would be eligible to participate in the State-level competitions to be held during Sankranti of 2021.
